Lisa Cheney is an Australian composer of acoustic and acousmatic music, born in 1987. She studied composition at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and completed a Ph.D. in Music Composition at the University of Melbourne. Her music includes orchestral, chamber, vocal, electroacoustic, theatre, ballet, and operatic works. lisacheney
Her compositions include The Pool and the Star, Penumbral Shadow, When We Speak, Hush, Tear it Down, Build it Up and the children’s opera The Owl and the Pussycat. She received the Dorian Le Gallienne Composition Award in 2019.
