Yanqi Chen is a New York–based composer, multimedia artist, and sound engineer. She studied composition and computer music at the Peabody Institute, theory and composition at the New England Conservatory, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College. She is currently a doctoral fellow in composition at Columbia University. cmc.music.columbia.edu
Her work combines instrumental music, electronics, video, installation, light, movement, and sound spatialisation. Compositions include Clouds, The Forgotten Ones, inhere nowhere, Unsupervised, Shards of the Untraced and They Have Only Existence.
