Charixene (Greek: Χαριξένη; also Charixena) was an Ancient Greek poet, musician, flautist, and composer, probably active around the late sixth or early fifth century BC, possibly in Athens. She was known for songs accompanied by the lyre, erotic poetry, and compositions for wind instruments. Dictionnaire des Créatrices
