Notes:

Lena Wheeler Chambers was an American pianist, piano teacher and composer active in the early twentieth century. She worked in Portland, Oregon, where she maintained a piano studio and taught according to the Leschetizky method. Contemporary newspaper advertisements also describe her as a teacher of keyboard harmony and pedagogy, and note that she demonstrated her own compositions to other teachers. Oregon Newspapers
Her published music was written largely for piano. Among the works documented in surviving catalogues and sheet-music collections are Pickaninny March (1925) and The Cotton Pickers (1926). The latter was renewed for copyright in 1954 under her own name, confirming her authorship. UMKC Library
Other surviving sheet music attributed to her includes A Song of the Night. Her output appears to have consisted mainly of short character pieces and pedagogical or salon-style piano music typical of the period.
