CELES, Sylvia

Sylvia Celes is a composer, DJ, performer and researcher based between Los Angeles and Brooklyn. Her experimental work examines contemporary technologies in relation to the history of electronic music, combining acoustic phenomena, complex harmonic structures and explorations of time. In Starlight Suite, she uses piano, custom hand-tracking systems and wearable technology to transform physical gestures into an evolving soundscape of microtonal clusters and expansive consonances. Her recorded works include couture runway bloodbath (2018), dj aria climbs again (2019), Limit Break (2021), Anticipation of Stars (2022) and the theatrical score Swan, Pike, and Crab OST (2026). Celes studied Painting and Theory at NYU Gallatin and pursued graduate studies in composition at the California Institute of the Arts.
