Caterina Di Cecca is an Italian composer born in Leiden and based in Rome. Trained in piano and composition at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia, she continued her studies with Alessandro Solbiati and Ivan Fedele. Her music combines structural clarity with poetic and literary inspiration, encompassing solo, chamber, vocal, choral, orchestral and operatic works. Representative compositions include the chamber opera Funeral Play, La verità ricurva, winner of the Irino Prize, La via isoscele della sera for string orchestra, La terra e la morte on poetry by Cesare Pavese, and Retour à Tipasa for large ensemble. Her works have been commissioned and performed internationally by prominent festivals, orchestras and contemporary-music ensembles.
