Eliza Cave was a British composer associated with Bath, England, who was active during the early nineteenth century. Her documented composition The Blush and the Tear was published in London around 1814 as a song with pianoforte accompaniment. The text was written by the Reverend L. Blakeney, a pseudonym used by Laurence Hynes Halloran. A surviving contemporary account states that Cave published the setting and sent copies to the poet, who responded with verses praising her musical treatment.
