Kelly Catlin is an American flutist and composer whose work centres on electroacoustic music, particularly compositions combining flute with fixed media, live electronics and synthesized sound. She holds a DMA in flute performance with a minor in composition from the University of Georgia. Her debut album, Backstory (2021), consists entirely of original electroacoustic works, including Atmosphere, the four-movement Memory, Because We Couldn’t Get Lizzo, The Clocksmith, In the Forest and Lilac and Snapdragon. Her catalogue also includes the acoustic work Presence for four violas and the score for the Off-Off-Broadway production Magic the Play. Catlin additionally founded Millennium, a multimedia pop-fusion orchestra performing her original music with projected animation.
