Notes:

Na Castelloza was a noblewoman and trobairitz active in Auvergne in the early thirteenth century. She composed courtly songs in Old Occitan, presenting love and longing from a distinctly female perspective. Three texts are securely attributed to her: Ja de chantar non degra aver talan, Amics, s’ie.us trobes avinen and Mout avetz faich lonc estatge; a fourth, Per joi que d’amor m’avegna, has disputed authorship. No original melodies for her songs survive, so contemporary performances use reconstructed or newly composed music.
