Canadian composer based in Toronto. Her output focuses primarily on choral music, art songs, and educational pieces for solo piano. Her vocal compositions are frequently inspired by poetry from different historical periods and cultural traditions, with recurring themes of nature, environmental protection, community, remembrance, and human resilience. Her musical language combines contemporary classical writing with tonal and jazz-influenced harmonies.
Her compositions include the choral works Storm Birds, The Stranger, My Eyes for Beauty Pine, In Flanders Fields, Everyone Sang, and First Sparrow of Spring; the song cycles Songs of the Seasons, The Slow Hand of Time, Nightsongs, and Into Flight; and the piano collections Bagatelles, Book of Elements, and On the Trail. Storm Birds won the DaCapo Chamber Choir NewWorks Competition in 2020.
