Notes:

Mrs Robert Cartwright was a nineteenth-century English composer who published songs for voice and piano during the 1850s. As was customary for many married women of her period, her works appeared under her husband’s name, and her personal name has not been identified.
Her known compositions include Break, Break, Break! (1852) and St Agnes, both settings of poetry by Alfred Tennyson, and New Year’s Chaunt for 1855, for which she also wrote the text. Her surviving output therefore consists primarily of Victorian art songs.
