CARRAL, Ana Baron

Ana Barón Carral, professionally known as Ana Beyron, is a Spanish composer and filmmaker based in Madrid. Her work combines contemporary concert music, film music, opera and audiovisual art. She studied composition at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, film directing at ECAM and music composition for film and television through Berklee College of Music.
Beyron is responsible for the Women Film Composers group within CIMA, the Spanish Association of Women Filmmakers. She participated in the CIMA Mentoring 1to1 programme under the guidance of film composer Zeltia Montes and has recorded orchestral music with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra.
Her mixed-media opera El maleficio de la mariposa, based on the play by Federico García Lorca, incorporates music, dance and audiovisual elements. It was presented at the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences and at the Munich Music Video Awards. Other compositions include El jinete de mar, a lied based on a text by Emilia Pardo Bazán; El Yeti Blanco; Kaleidos; Izoliteco; and music for film and theatre.
In 2026, she won the first prize at the VIII María de Pablos International Composition Competition with La blanca cigüeña, a work for soprano and piano based on a text by Antonio Machado.
