CARNERO, Ana Leira

Ana Leira Carnero is an Argentine-Spanish composer and pianist, born in Buenos Aires on 21 December 1973. She began studying music at the age of seven and later attended the Carlos López Buchardo National Conservatory in Buenos Aires, where she studied piano, harmony, contemporary musical styles, choral conducting and music history.

Her music combines classical forms with elements of jazz, blues, rock and folk music. Her catalogue includes orchestral and chamber works, art songs and compositions for solo piano. Among her works are Adagio for Solo Violin, Oración, Carnavalito XXI, Arcos de Catedral, Malambo, three piano sonatas and Maradona Tribute: Fugue on a Soccer Stadium Theme. Her compositions have been performed in Europe, North and South America, and Australia
