Nicole Carignan is a Canadian composer and music educator, born in Plessisville, Quebec. She earned degrees in music education and composition from the Université du Québec à Montréal and the Université de Montréal, where she studied composition with André Prévost. She also completed a PhD in comparative and intercultural education. Carignan has taught music and education in Canada, the United States, Indonesia and South Africa. Her compositions range from works for solo instruments to orchestral music.
