Eris S. Capeditiea is an American composer, pianist and independent experimental musician based in Nebraska. A highly prolific self-publishing artist, she works across contemporary classical, electronic and outsider-music practices. Her catalogue includes music for solo piano, chamber ensembles and orchestra, as well as symphonies, piano concertos, string quartets, piano trios, sonatas, a ballet and numerous digitally produced albums. Among her published compositions are The Tale of the Bird, Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major, several symphonies and string quartets, and politically engaged works such as Black Lives Matter and Transgender Anthem. Capeditiea distributes her scores and recordings primarily through online platforms and describes herself as a transgender pianist and composer.
