Jia Cao is a Chinese composer whose work explores relationships between contemporary art music and traditional Chinese musical practices. She studied composition and piano and subsequently undertook doctoral research in composition at Durham University. Her Impressions (2021), for flute and electronics, received its world premiere as part of Durham’s MUSICON concert series
