Notes:

Kim Cannan is an Australian composer, instrumentalist, harpist, guitarist, educator, and author whose music is closely connected with wellbeing, relaxation, healing, and environmental sound. Born in Sydney, she began her classical guitar training in Parramatta in 1977 and later developed a broad practice that brings together composition, performance, psychology, and music-based healing. Cannan composes and performs mainly instrumental music, often using acoustic instruments such as harp, guitar, strings, soft percussion, and ambient electronic textures. Her works include music for guitar ensemble, harp, string orchestra, and recorded meditative soundscapes, with titles such as Desert Dance, Hola Cordoba, Spring Morn, Cascade, Dawn Chorus, The Call of the Ocean, and Winter Solstice. Alongside her recorded albums and singles, she is the founder of Sonic Healing Environment, a music-based wellbeing practice that uses sound and music in educational and therapeutic contexts. Her creative work reflects an interest in the emotional, physical, and restorative effects of music, combining instrumental composition with a strong commitment to listening, atmosphere, and healing environments.
