CAMARGO, Mariana

Mariana Camargo is a Brazilian composer and music producer whose work bridges concert music and music for moving image. Her practice includes music for film, television, theatre, video games and the concert stage, with a particular emphasis on original scores and soundtracks.

Camargo has been associated with the Brazilian group Banda Sonora, a collective devoted to creating music for image, including soundtracks for films and animation. Her screen credits include the feature film Disparos (2012), the documentary Marcia Haydée – Uma Vida pela Dança (2019), and the film Jardim dos Girassóis (2024). Through these works, she has developed a profile as a composer attentive to narrative, atmosphere and the dramatic relationship between sound and image.

Her output places her among contemporary Brazilian women composers working across the boundaries of classical composition, audiovisual media and music production.
