CAMAHORT, Maria

Maria Camahort is a guitarist, ensemble leader, composer, and teacher. She was awarded the 2nd Prize in the I Llobet Composition Competition for guitar, the 2nd Prize in the Maria de Pablos III International Composition Competition (Don Juan de Borbón Foundation), the 1st prize at the Maria de Pablos IV Int. Comp. Contest, was selected by the SGAE Foundation for the 2020, 2021 and 2025 premiere incentives, and by the Grants for Research and Innovation from the Culture Department of Catalonia 2024. She premiered her work for string quartet “Nóos”, commissioned by the FIAS 2021 festival (Madrid), and performed by the Bauhaus Quartet. In 2022, she realised the arrangement for guitar duo of the works by E. Escudé-Cofiner, published by Boileau Music. Nowadays, she collaborates with Fundación Cofiner and JSM Records in an ongoing project of arrangements for solo guitar of works by E. Escudé-Cofiner. Her compositions for guitar and chamber music have been performed in Spain, France, UK, USA, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
