CALLINAN, Maureen

Maureen Callinan was an Australian composer, singer, performer and vocal teacher. She is listed in biographical sources on women in music as an Australian composer born in 1935, although very little information about her compositions.
Callinan appears to have been active in Australian musical and theatrical life during the mid-twentieth century. She is documented as an actor and singer in Australian stage productions, including The Sound of Music in the 1960s, and later appears in Sydney Opera House concert programming. She was also active as a vocal teacher in Sydney, where later singers studied with her.
