CAIRNS, Moira

Moira Cairns is a contemporary composer and soprano, born in 1983. She is associated with Mississippi University for Women, where she has been documented as a soprano and music therapy major. Her work as a composer is currently represented by Phoenix: of burnout and dreams, a vocal work for soprano and piano.

Phoenix: of burnout and dreams has been performed by Cairns herself, with William Reber at the piano, and was presented at Mississippi University for Women’s New Music at the W Concert in 2024 and at the International Music by Women Festival in 2025.
