Elisa Bosch was born in Versailles on 6 January 1833 and died in Saintry-sur-Seine on 8 July 1904. She was a pianist, a piano professor and a composer.

Working in Paris from roughly 1850-1900, she composed 100 works: waltzes, pavanes, mazurkas, rondos many of which were published. She was also a poet, composing texts for her works. In the International Encylcopedia of Women Composers she was cited as among the most prolific composers for piano of the 19th Century.
