BOJOVIĆ, Biljana

Biljana Bojović is a contemporary composer specializing in works for solo instruments and chamber ensembles, frequently inspired by Balkan folk traditions and Orthodox church music. Educated at the Interlochen Arts Academy, West Virginia University, and Butler University, she studied composition with John Beall, Frank Felice, and Michael Schelle, and participated in masterclasses with William Bolcom, Eric Ewazen, and Paul Chihara. Her notable compositions—such as Still Here, Crescendo, Three Balkan Dances, Out of the Depths, and the UC Davis Cello Ensemble-commissioned Flight of Freedom—have been featured internationally across the United States, Europe, and the UK. Based in California, Bojović remains active in the contemporary classical music scene.
