Notes:

María Boedo was a 19th-century Spanish composer and pianist from A Coruña, Galicia. She belongs to a historic, long-overlooked generation of pioneering female Galician classical composers whose works are currently being actively rediscovered, cataloged, and brought back to light.
Active during the mid-to-late 19th century, Boedo specialized primarily in romantic-era piano music and classical salon pieces. One of her notable surviving compositions is "Recuerdos de Padrón" (Memories of Padrón), a lively polka written and published around 1875.
Because female musicians of her era faced immense societal barriers and their works rarely moved past local domestic or salon contexts, her historical impact faded after her lifetime. Today, research institutions like the Irmandade da Música Galega (Galician Music Brotherhood) are actively recovering her manuscripts to rescue them from obscurity and introduce her piano scores to modern concert halls.
