Notes:

Lucia Böck (frequently spelled Bock in English contexts) is an accomplished Austrian saxophonist, composer, multi-woodwind instrumentalist, and video editor born in 1998 in Lower Austria. She has earned international recognition for her versatile musicianship, academic excellence, and contributions to music education. Böck began her deep engagement with music at a young age, starting comprehensive lessons at seven years old. Her early training covered an impressive range of instruments, including the saxophone, recorder, clarinet, and bassoon at her local music school. She pursued her higher academic career at prestigious institutions, including the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG). Her extensive academic credits include a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (IGP) focusing on the saxophone—which she completed with distinction under Christian Maurer—along alongside parallel degrees in oboe, saxophone performance (Mag. art.), and cultural management. She holds a staggering four master's degrees, concluding her final thesis with distinction in 2026.

As a professional performer and composer, Böck actively creates cross-disciplinary projects and composes music tailored for the saxophone and various chamber ensembles. Her work spans classical performance and baroque music, where she contributes as a baroque oboe player. Solistic performances have taken her to world-class venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Mozarteum Salzburg, Muth Wien, and the Festspielhaus St. Pölten. Beyond live stages, she has recorded multiple albums and EPs with Lumar Production and works as a prominent digital creator. She established the widely known Just4Sax Channel on YouTube and works with the alpine folk project Musi Explora, utilizing her skills as a multi-woodwind player and film editor to share arrangements with a global audience. Additionally, she passes on her expertise to the next generation by teaching woodwinds at the Franz Schubert Regionalmusikschule.

Throughout her rapidly ascending career, Böck has received numerous prominent national and international awards for her musical talent. She secured First Prize at Prima la musica early on, followed by the Grand Prize Virtuoso Salzburg. Her recent accolades include the Diamond Prize at the Royale Music Competition, the Gold Prize at the London Young Musician competition, and the prestigious Würdigungspreis (Appreciation Award) from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for her exceptional academic and artistic achievements.
