Notes:

Martina Bertoni is a Berlin-based experimental cellist, composer, and educator originally from a small town in Northeast Italy. Classically trained from a very young age, she transitioned away from traditional classical music to pioneer a highly distinctive style at the intersection of electroacoustic composition, drone minimalism, synthesis, and generative systems. Her work is widely acclaimed for bridging the emotional and physical realms of sound, creating sonic landscapes described as dissolving the boundaries between emotion and architecture. Before fully establishing her solo trajectory, Bertoni spent years collaborating with other prominent artists and contributing to film, theater, and dance scores. The core of Bertoni's solo work revolves around deconstructing her relationship with the cello by combining its acoustic capabilities with repetition, analog synthesis, and digital manipulation. In addition to her performance and composition career, Bertoni is an active educator. She works as a tutor at the Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology in Berlin, teaching within the Electronic Music Production & Performance and the Creative Audio Production & Sound Engineering programs, specializing in composition and sound design.
