Notes:

"Thaïs-Bernarda Bauer was born in Graz in 1989. Early private lessons and training at the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory were followed by classical piano studies (Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy) with Prof. Eike Straub at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. During her studies, she furthered her education through masterclasses and in other styles beyond classical music, including jazz and stride piano. Influences from several styles are reflected in her arrangements and compositions for a wide variety of ensembles. Highlights include commissions for film scores and the prize for an "artistically innovative composition" at the composition competition for a musical signature at the Medical University of Graz. As pianist and composer of the duo Desustu, she is the driving force behind their programs and arrangements (including Suite Dreams)." Thaïs-Bernarda Bauer also plays and writes for the crossover jazz band Tuesday Microgrooves (ORF performance at the International Jazz Day 2021, current program: Raw Book of Music). Her first solo program, titled "What if," premiered in 2023 at the "Don't Tell Mama" club in New York.
