Clémentine Batta (born Julie Françoise Clémentine O’Mahony) was a French composer and translator. Born into a prominent military family with Irish roots, she began her creative life in literature, publishing translations of English texts under her maiden name. Following her 1864 marriage to the cello virtuoso Alexandre Batta, she embraced her musical career professionally. Her compositions - ranging from delicate piano solos like Songe d’enfant to sacred vocal works like Prière à la vierge - remain preserved today in classical music archives.
