BASSETT, Henrietta

Henrietta Elizabeth 'beth' Bassett was a pianist, organist and composer. She was born at 1710 Lakeview Drive Dallas. In 1952 she got her BA from Baylor University Waco,in 1944 appeared as pianist on radio, in 1945 pianist and 1952 organist of Baptist churches in Mesquite, during 1945-1949 was a pianist at Mesquite High School. In 1948 she was a piano, organ, theory and composition teacher. During 1948-1974 she was the music administrator in Mesquite, 1972-1978 chairman of the national piano and organ auditions, 1946, 1947 and 1948 winner of the piano auditions National Guild of Piano Teachers, 1965-1976 won the International Annual Composition Contest by the National Guild of Piano Teachers and American College of Musicians, 1972 received the Piano Guild's Hall of Fame award, 1995 resided at 645 East Tripp Road Dallas Mesquite Sunnyvale Texas.
