BARNEKOW, Deborah

Deborah 'Debby' Ann Barnekow is an American musician and composer born on 24.jan.1949 in USA Illinois, Mattoon. She is an oboist, teacher, born at 2920 Prairy Drive, grew up at 13 Noyes Court, 1967 graduated from Mattoon High School, studied at DePaul University in Greencastle Indiana, 1969-1971 BA from the University of Evansville Indiana, 1971-1976 MM in composition and oboe from Indiana University in Bloomington, 1976-1978 lived in Israel, performing and traveling with orchestras, taught at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, 1997-2013 director of educational outreach for the Aspen Music Festival and School in Carbondale Colorado.
