Gail Marie Guseman Barber was a harpist born on 23.feb.1937 in USA Louisiana, New Iberia.
She studied at Baylor University Texas from 1954 to1956 , 1956-1959 BM in harp with Eileen Malone from the Eastman School of Music, studied at the University of Rochester New York, appeared as soloist with orchestras in the US, Canada and Mexico, 1957-1959 with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, 1959-1961 with the Peninsula Festival Orchestra, 1960-1961 with the Chicago Little Symphony, taught at Furmon University South Carolina and 1961-1966 at Baylor University Texas, 1966 professor of harp and music theory at Texas University in Lubbock, 1970-1976 and 1980-1984 on the board of directors of the American Harp Society, 1971-1979 editor of the American Harp Journal, 1984 residing in Lubbock Texas.
