BALENCY-BEARN, Andrea

Andrea Balency-Béarn is a French-Mexican composer, performer, and researcher based in London. Born in Paris and raised in Mexico City, her work spans contemporary music, film scoring, and live performance. She has collaborated with ensembles such as the Riot Ensemble and Nash Ensemble, and her compositions have been performed internationally.

Balency-Béarn's research at the Royal Academy of Music focuses on interactive sound systems. She also lectures in film music there. Her compositions often explore the intersection of sound and visuals, utilizing digital technology. As a film composer, she has created scores for Netflix, Amazon Studios, and the BBC, including recent work on films like *En el Camino*, which won an award at the Venice Biennale. She is also a performer with the electronic band Mount Kimbie.
