Helma Autenrieth was a German composer, pianist and music educator. She focused her work on piano pedagogy, initiating and editing the collection project Das neue Klavierbuch (1927), published by Schott, to make contemporary piano music accessible for teaching. After a long hiatus, she resumed composing after the Second World War. Since the 1960s, her works have been performed repeatedly, and a recording of her piano and chamber music was released in 1972.
