ASPIS-BAYER, Ida

Ida Aspis-Bayer, the daughter of composer and violinist Joseph Bayer. She studied acting and singing and made her debut at the theatre in Teplitz in the operetta 'Die geschiedene Frau'. In 1926, she married Julius Aspis, who died a year later. In 1940, she was imprisoned for several months, lost her home in a bombing raid in 1944, and found refuge in the "Kaiserin Elisabeth Heim". In 1945, she joined the Society of Authors, Composers and Music Publishers of Austria and worked as a composer. Her compositions include, among others, the songs " Das erste Du", "Lied ohne Worte", and "Mein liebes altes Wien".
