ARSEYEVA, Irina

Irina Vladimirovna Arseyeva was a Russian composer, music lecturer, and member of the Union of Composers of the USSR. She taught music theory in Rostov-on-Don and Perm. Her works included; Warsaw Melody, an opera based on Leonid Zorin's play; Vocal Cycles: Including Tree of Despair (1979) on V. Bronevsky's poems; Weeping Garden (1980) on Boris Pasternak's poems; and cycles on poems by Osip Mandelstam and Russian symbolist poets (1981). Instrumental and Chamber Pieces: Including a String Quartet (1985), a Suite for Solo Flute (1982), and a Concerto for Trumpet and Chamber Orchestra (1987.)
