Ana Paula Andrade Constância (1964) was born in Ponta Delgada where she completed her general music course at the Regional Conservatory, having studied with Margarida Magalhães de Sousa (composition) and Natália Silva (piano). In 1987 she completed her advanced piano studies at the National Conservatory (Lisbon), in the class of Melina Rebelo, and the following year she completed her advanced composition studies, having been a student of the composers C. Bochmann, Constança Capedeville, Álvaro Salazar and Joly Braga Santos.
