Solveig has been composing music since the age of eight, when she first began playing the recorder. She later studied violin at Ingesund (1973-1976), in Denmark (1975–1978), the Nordic Music Conservatory (1978-1980), and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (1980-1984). Today, her compositional work focuses primarily on music for solo violin and for violin with piano accompaniment.
