Mrs E. H. Anderson was a nineteenth-century composer whose life remains largely undocumented. Although little is known about her personal background, at least one of her works survives: Ocean Spray, a piano polka published in Baltimore in 1865. Despite the scarcity of biographical information, Anderson has been recognised in projects that recover and promote the work of historical women composers. For instance, Clark Kimberling's collection of melodies by women composers for solo soprano recorder, ensuring that her name and surviving work remain accessible to modern performers and researchers.
