Mary Audentia Smith Anderson was multi-talented from a young age; the list of her accomplishments is extraordinary. At 12 Audentia was the church organist. She was an accomplished singer. She headed the department of music at Graceland College. She served as choir director at the Old Stone Church in Independence, Missouri. With Vida Elizabeth Smith she wrote a favourite RLDS hymn, The Old, Old Path. She also composed music for 17 other hymns.
