Gökçe Altay is a composer, music theorist, teacher, and choir conductor born in Istanbul. Her formal music education began at age 12 at the Ankara State Conservatory, where she studied piano. Later, she attended Bilkent University's Music and Performing Arts Faculty on a full scholarship, majoring in Theory and Composition.
