ALMEIDA, Sara

Sara Cristina Oliveira Marques Almeida began her musical studies in her home city. Upon entering the Bachelor’s degree program in Music Education (specializing in Composition) at the University of Aveiro, she also joined the studio of Professor Juracyara at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Aveiro.

She has taught at several specialized music schools throughout her career. Currently, she is a faculty member at the Oliveira de Azeméis Music Academy, where she teaches Analysis and Composition Techniques, Acoustics and Organology, and early childhood music education (pré-musical). She also leads a music project for infants in nurseries across the Ovar and Murtosa regions, performing regularly under the name "Olhos de gato". Furthermore, she is involved in several musical projects as a singer, percussionist, and composer, with a focus on a wide variety of eras and styles, most notably in the groups "Trovas d’amigo" and "Box 2 Box".
