Johanna Almark is a musician, singer, composer, and conductor. Her work draws inspiration from the Baroque concept of a "complete musician." Almark composed the opera *Orlando*, based on Virginia Woolf's novel, for her own voice (soprano) and seven musicians. The opera explores themes of gender and identity across centuries, with singing in English, Finnish, and Swedish. *Orlando* received acclaimed performances in 2023 at the Åland Opera Festival and the Alexander Theatre. Almark also composed the theme song "Yes, we all need hope" for Climate Aid Finland, leading a collaborative music video released in 2021. She has also arranged music by Lasse Mårtenson and conducted performances.
