Gizem Alever studyied Composition at the ITU Turkish music state conservatory, graduating in 2016. She then earned a Music Theory and Composition degree in ITU Social Sciences Institute. Her compositions and arrangements have been performed primarily by ensembles from İstanbul, İzmir, Bursa and Heidelberg . She aims to use modal and post-tonal harmony approaches with makam music elements .
