Elizabeth Aitken is a contemporary English composer and arranger. She is best known for her pedagogical chamber music, particularly her imaginative suites and miniatures tailored for double reed ensembles such as oboes and English horns. Aitken began composing and writing tunes for the piano at just five years old. Heavily inspired by the sounds of the oboe and cor anglais, her musical style is highly melodic, often light-hearted, and occasionally incorporates traditional folk elements. She has been an active member of local orchestras and small choirs for many years.
