AIN, Noa

Noa Ain is a composer, lyricist, and librettist who graduated from the Juilliard School and L'ecole Des Beaux Arts. She studied piano with Jean Casadesus and Seymour Bernstein, and composition with Hall Overton. Ain has received an Obie Award, the Stephen Sondheim Award, and 14 ASCAP Awards.

Her works include the opera "Joan of Arc," which premiered at the Angel Orensantz Foundation and was described by Opera News as "a brilliantly conceived experience." "Angels' Voices," an opera for young people, won first prize at The Kennedy Center. "The Outcast," an opera examining interracial tension, received critical acclaim from The New York Times. Ain also directed "Leaving Home" in Krakow, Poland, which won an award for Outstanding Work of the Year. Her animated film "Silence," based on her work "Through the Silence," has won 25 international awards.
