Jeanne Isabel Dorothy Ackland was a Canadian organist , pianist , music educator , and composer. Jeanne Ackland grew up in a musical family and showed an early talent for music. She received private lessons from Gregori Garbovitsky and her sister, Jessie Ackland. Later, she studied at Columbia University in New York City , spending a total of seven years refining her musical skills.
