Laura (she/her) has been playing the piano for most of her life and holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Composition with First Class Honours from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. She studied piano under the tutelage of Mr Glenn Riddle before specializing in composition, supervised by Professor Stuart Greenbaum. Throughout her time there she received a number of awards for excellence in composition, including the Dr Allan Zavod Composition Award (2020), Orloff Family Charitable Trust Scholarship (2019), Esther Rofe Award (2019; 2018), Wright Prize in Instrumental Music (2018), Ormond Exhibition in Music (2018) and the Eric and Linda Jullyan Memorial Scholarship (2018). Since then, Laura has completed further study in psychology and will undertake postgraduate training in Clinical Neuropsychology in 2026. Drawing from both music and psychology, Laura is interested in the ways that music can transcend language to evoke ideas and nuanced emotions that lie beyond words.
