AL ABED, Julia Hanadi

Julia Hanadi Al Abed is a composer and musician whose practice focuses on musique concrète. Her creative process includes taking field recordings of voices and environmental sounds to create acousmatic works. In live performance (both solo and collaborative), she combines lo- and hi-tech devices and experiments with sonic feedback to create immersive sound installations.

Al Abed holds a degree in Electroacoustic Composition from the Conservatoire de Bordeaux and is an associate artist at the Studio of Creation and Research in Informatics and Experimental Music (SCRIME) at the University of Bordeaux. She has received commissions from France Musique and INA GRM.
