Notes:

Eygló Höskuldsdóttir Viborg completed a bachelor's degree in composition with distinction from Berklee College of Music and a master's degree in composition from New York University under the supervision of Julia Wolfe. Her music has been performed in both Boston and New York by groups such as the JACK Quartet and the Quince Ensemble. She sang for many years with Graduale Nobili, who participated in Björk Guðmundsdóttir's Biophilia project and performed with her in concerts around the world. Eygló has been making a name for herself in the performing arts in recent years.

Her path into the performing arts scene was through music for plays and developed so that now she steps on stage, writes scripts and creates works independently and in collaboration with others. She approaches her material first and foremost from the point of view of music, but her work is intertwined with the performing arts and visual arts.

Eygló's music more often than not has some clear appeal to the performing arts and her works call for theatrical gestures on the part of the instrumentalists. She has also written compositions for found instruments where the performance of the works inevitably becomes a performance. These include a penphony quartet (Penphonie in #E) and the composition Silent! where two people read aloud from a book and suss each other. The interpretation of the second work is therefore determined solely by what is being read. The fusion of music, performing arts and visual art makes it possible for Eygló to deal with the more complex tensions of human life, which music alone cannot encompass.

Among Eygló's projects are music for the children's fairy tale The White Tiger, scripts and music for the radio play The Mass Gathering at Gjögur and the symphony piece Lo and Behold for the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.

Eygló is a member of the Empty Space and the performing arts group Slembilukka. In the fall of 2023, she began her master's degree in performing arts at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.
