METTIG, Carmen

Educator, musician and composer, Carmen Maria Mettig Rocha is the director of the Institute of Music Education (Instituto de Educação Musical – IEM), in Salvador (Bahia – Brazil), a reference in music education for children, youth and adults in Bahia. She holds a degree in Pedagogy from UCSal, and a Degree in Music, Piano and Specialization in Music Theory from UFBA. She received her training in the Willems methodology of music education directly from Master Edgar Willems. Author of several books on music education, children's choir, piano, solfeggio and compositions, she is a member of the advisory board of the Neojibá project – State Centers of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Bahia, coordinated by conductor and pianist Ricardo Castro.
